Frequently Asked Questions

Excuse me . . .

What do I need to bring for lessons?

(1) Jeans or long pants.  If you wear leggings, you may regret it.

(2) Closed toed shoes (preferably boots with a small heel and smooth bottoms).

(3) A riding helmet.

How old does my child need to be to ride?

Our typical age range is 8 and up. Children need to be able to follow basic instructions.

Do I have to wear a helmet?

Yes!  Safety is our top priority.  All riders must wear helmets.  Everyone here wears helmets...including our instructors and trainers... no exceptions...no excuses... bring your helmet, wear it, love it, make it look cool!

Do I need to have prior experience before taking a lesson?

Not at all!  We are all about learning and education and love beginners.  In fact, that is our sweet spot!

Are you considered a "show barn" where you train and take students to shows?

No.  We teach beginner to intermediate riders basic riding and horsemanship skills. While we can help you prepare for horse shows we do not trailer to or attend shows with groups of students.  Our focus is on private, no-pressure riding lessons.  There are plenty of barns that have great show preparation programs.  We would be happy to refer you to some of those great programs if that is what you are looking for.

Where are you located?

We are located at 3183 Russell Road, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043.  Our facility is gated, so please make sure you have an appointment or make prior arrangements before visiting so you don't get stuck at the gate.

What days/times do you give lessons?

Our lessons are by appointment, so it depends on when you schedule with the instructor. We offer week day and weekend lessons.

How do I schedule a lesson?

Call Sam at (330) 419-0875 and get on the calendar!

What style riding do you teach?

We teach a combination of Western and English disciplines.  Riders are taught traits from several disciplines to become well-rounded riders. We are constantly expanding our knowledge base and riding program. . . after all, . . there is no end to learning when it comes to horses!

What if I am not sure if I actually want to ride, but want to spend time with horses?

We offer all types of training and educational lessons.  You don't have to ride to connect with horses.  We offer lessons involving grooming, safety, groundwork, equine behavior, etc.  We also have part-time leases available where you can spend time with the horses on your own schedule.
